Chris Evans sends pulses racing in Aran Jumper

In Rian Johnson’s mystery whodunnit Knives Out, Daniel Craig plays sleuth Benoit Blanc but it was Chris Evans sending pulses racing and tongues wagging for his choice of attire. The star of Captain America and The Avengers wore a Irish Aran jumper which caused a massive stir online.

A tweet from the films preview screening in which a critic noted the reaction of a girl in the audience (she gasped "sweater") gained over 50,000 likes. Since then, the iconic garment has caused a mania with fans of the actor having "sweater only" screenings of the film where you are encouraged to wear a chunky knit aran jumper to watch the film.

This tweet from critic Anna Menta caused a huge stir on twitter gaining over 50,000 likes and causing an Aran jumper craze.

Evans wearing the iconic piece has caused many men to follow in his footsteps with fashion magazines such as GQ calling the traditonal Aran jumper a "great gift for guys". The official Knives Out twitter account went so far as to rename itself "Chris Evans Sweater Stan Account" giving 100 lucky fans sweaters with Evans wearing his Aran jumper printed on the front.

Aran Jumper manufacturers have noticed a massive spike in sales of Mens Jumpers due to Evans choice in the film. One retailer saw a 150% uplift in sales of its signature mens cream Aran jumper.

The resurgence of the humble aran jumper in fashion circles has led to pieces in the New Yorker and The Guardian, reflecting and honouring the piece's mythology and origins in the Aran Islands off the West Coast of Ireland.

Designer Michael Kors (who featured a variation of the aran jumper on this runway tour) told Vogue magazine at the time it had the potential to become a classic of the modern era, saying: "It has stood the test of time because it's chic and practical. When the temperature dips, everyone wants a knit that looks good and feels amazing."

"The Aran is a lasting design of beautiful craftsmanship and texture; it's universally flattering and is incredibly versatile, too; it works well with almost anything."

Long may the renaissance continue!!!!
