Top Music Festivals in Ireland This Summer

If you’re looking for a broad selection of music festivals to attend this summer, you’re spoilt for choice in Ireland. This year is reported to be the biggest year for music since COVID, with festival organisers being given the green light to go ahead without restrictions or social distancing. Whether you’re looking to go all out or wanting a more relaxed vibe, here are the top music festivals happening in Ireland this summer.

INDIE 2022

Friday 29 July 2022 – Sunday 31 July 2022

INDIE returns to Mitchelstown, Cork on the August Bank Holiday Weekend, July 29 - 31. Featuring Fatboy Slim, Bastille, Rudimental (Live) and other big names such as Becky Hill and Daði Freyr.

Much-loved and renowned for its role in bringing some of the best new Irish artists to large audiences, INDIE returns to its spiritual home, nestled in the foothills of the Galtee Mountains and the stage is once again set for three days of magic next Summer.

INDIE started 2006 around Mitchelstown’s venues and market square, and its move to a new site on the outskirts of town in 2010 put INDIE on the international festival map – attracting artists such as Manic Street Preachers, Public Enemy, Biffy Clyro, Lewis Capaldi, Bastille, Basement Jaxx, De La Soul, Tom Odell, Editors, The Dandy Warhols, to play alongside some of Ireland’s finest live acts including The Coronas, Hozier, Kodaline and Lyra. An origin story that started with a handful of music lovers in the County Cork town has developed into a constantly evolving festival with a huge and loyal fanbase that grows every year.

This is a camping festival and tickets are around €150. Click here to buy tickets and find out more.

Forest Fest

Friday 22 July 2022 – Sunday 24 July 2022

A brand new boutique music & arts festival.

Based in the picturesque heritage Laois village of Emo. Forest Fest is aimed at a discerning audience, our objective to ensure a quality, close-up, close quarters, quality gig experience with numbers strictly limited. The line up includes The Waterboys, Hothouse Flowers, Mundy, Damien Dempsey and many more!

A summertime party atmosphere will bring dancing to the crossroads of Emo for the weekend of July 22 – 24. The aim of this festival is for the fans to be at the heart of the event.

This festival promises craft beers, the fabulous food, the classy cocktails, and cracking tunes.

The venue for Forest Fest is at the cross roads in Emo Village and at the cross roads of Ireland, only 10 minutes from the towns of Portlaoise, Portarlington and Mountmellick and literally up the road from the neighbouring village of Killenard and its prestigious resort, the Heritage Hotel at Killenard, our accommodation partners.

The forest skyline in the spectacular parklands of the iconic heritage house at Emo Court just across the road from our venue is what inspires the festival name and logo.
