TOP CITIES TO VISIT IN IRELAND THIS SUMMER

Taking to trip to Ireland this year? While Ireland is famous for its beautiful countryside scenery, its cities are filled with history, culture, arts and nightlife. Here are the top 5 cities we recommend you visit in Ireland.

DUBLIN

Dublin is an incredibly beautiful place to visit. It's a medieval city that has some fascinating living history along its streets – ancient buildings, historical sites, street art, memorials and a different story at every turn.

From the Guinness Brewery to Temple Bar, there are a lot of attractions that are unique to Dublin that will keep you filled with fun during your visit.

If you're looking to escape the city, Dublin lies on the sea, meaning you can spend a day at the beach away from the hustle and bustle if you fancy it.

With a warm atmosphere, plenty of culture and history, we recommend Dublin as our top pick out of cities to visit.

CORK

Jam-packed with buzzing pubs, fantastic galleries, thought-provoking museums and arguably the best restaurant scene in Ireland, Cork is the perfect city break destination.
Known as the food capital of Ireland, there are sensational food markets with diverse options from all cultures to try out. We recommend bringing loose clothing to Cork as you were overwhelmed with the delicious cuisines to try out!

Some of Ireland’s prettiest seaside towns can be found in West Cork. King of these is Kinsale, famous throughout Ireland for its seafood and award-winning restaurants. For the perfect day in Kinsale, enjoy lunch in the Fishy Fishy Café, walk out to the 17th century Charles Fort or play a round of golf at the stunning Old Head Golf Links.

From the Guinness Brewery to Temple Bar, there are a lot of attractions that are unique to Dublin that will keep you filled with fun during your visit.

GALWAY

Famous pubs, bouncing music and fresh seafood – the city of Galway offers the best of Ireland in a nutshell. This is why it's known as a European Capital of Culture.

Ireland is famous for its pubs and Galway's are amongst the liveliest in the country. Order yourself a pint of Guinness and before you’ve reached the bottom you’ll be swept up in a conversation with a friendly local or tapping your foot to the beat of an Irish jig, played by a local band.

Although the city itself is one of the most picturesque in Ireland, The Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, the Aran Islands and the wild beauty of Connemara, are literally on Galway’s doorstep.

Limerick

Limerick city is a charming city, home to extensive and interesting history, beautiful countryside and an impressive selection of art. The Limerick area is easily worth a visit this summer.

Limerick is a city with strong ties to medieval history. King John’s Castle is a must-see attraction and offers visitors the chance to be transported back in time and experience the city’s most memorable moments, such as the Siege of Limerick in 1642.

The live music scene in Limerick has never been stronger, with venues around the city showcasing an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary acts each night. There are also extensive food options if that's more your thing, and also a great variety for theatre.

WATERFORD

From its vibrant city life to its rural charm and stunning coastline, Waterford city and county have something for everyone! It is the oldest city in Ireland and it is the perfect blend of ancient and modern.

Waterford is Ireland's oldest city, and arguably the best place to get stuck into 900+ years of history is the city centre itself - where the Viking Triangle, a nexus of narrow streets containing the Bishop's Palace, Reginald's Tower and the home of Waterford Crystal, among other attractions - brings it all to life.
